Supervision and Private Practice Consultation
I offer supervision for Licensure in the State of Oregon for Licensed Professional Counselors. Supervision is a process that includes reflection, questioning and intellectual curiosity. Vulnerability in supervision is often necessary to explore such topics as transference and counter-transference. I take the role of supervisor seriously and respect the trust interns put in me. I incorporate a wide scope of therapeutic orientations. I completed supervision coursework and training at Lewis and Clark College.
Supervision is also an option for professionals who may already be licensed and would appreciate guidance on a specific issue such as:
- Sexual Addiction
- Love Addiction
- Partners of Sex Addicts
- Trauma/PTSD
- Co-Dependence
Because I enjoy and find meaning in my private practice, I have found it a rewarding journey to supervise and consult with other clinicians both individually and in a group format.
My own supervision experience allowed me the opportunity to take ask questions, explore, fail, succeed, understand and learn. The supervisory dynamic – in my vision – is an authentic relationship and offers an opportunity to grow and change. Interns learn more about their clients and their own selves. I encourage lots of self-care acts and I strongly suggest setting up additional supports. Becoming a therapist is not an easy journey but it will change your perspective and probably, your life!
